Solar control for modern home
This modern contemporary home built in Brisbane’s bayside suburbs, was designed with large window and door panels to maximise natural daylight in the home.
One of the major concerns with glazing in hot climates is overheating, especially through windows directly exposed to the sun’s energy. Therefore, solar control was most important when it came to the window and door elements. 6mm Sunergy® Grey glass was selected which offers excellent solar control with moderate visible light transmittance to help restrict glare.
Sunergy® Grey has a special durable low-E coating, which provides thermal control, reflecting heat outside on warm days and back inside on colder days. Solar and thermal control also means lower cooling and heating costs. The grey tone of Sunergy® Grey complemented the buildings white rendered walls with a low neutral reflection.
